I was reading one thread where a poster was questioning my sanity because I created a link to Hal Lindsey's web site---as if it were a result of an alter state of mind. He obviously missed the point. Of course Hal Lindsey is a loonie fundy. But the way things are on course to go down, guys like this are going to appear to have gotten it right---for a time anyway. When things in the Middle East erupt, and it is inevitable, then it might well appear as if Christ is in the wilderness, so to speak. They will gain a lot of credibility. So Lindsey and others aren't just harmless fundies. They are poised to deceive millions when the tribulation commences. While Jesus, the real Jesus, will evidently remain cloaked in invisibility for some time during the tribulation in order to let the deception run its course. So that was the reason for my linking to Lindsey's web site, because this is the kind of stuff that's going on in the world, and for those with an ounce of insight it indicates just how accurate Jesus' prophecy is. / You Know

Thanks in advance.

One of the specific features of the sign of Christ's presence has to do with the emergence of false prophets and false Christs. While there have been various lunatics that have claimed to be Christ, none of these have been able to persuade more than a relative handful of people. Yet, Jesus sternly forewarned his chosen ones that "false prophets and false Christs will arise and give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. Look I have forewarned you. Therefore, if people say to you, 'look! He is in the wilderness,' do not g out; 'Look! He is in the inner chambers,' do not believe it."
The reason such great signs and wonders have not been displayed yet is because the tribulation has not commenced. Jesus had already discussed the cutting short of the tribulation period when he stated, "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look! Here is the Christ…"' So the "then" is during the period when men become faint out of fear, when all sorts of terrifying things are occurring. As for one possible scenario of how false prophets and false Christs may gain credibility so as to have the power to trick even Jesus' anointed brothers, we need to consider the situation that is presently developing.
As you know, from my several posts linking to credible economics analysts, the world's financial system is doomed. It really is not even a matter of debate. It is a matter of accountant's fact that the whole system is way beyond the point of bankruptcy and is held aloft now only by the continued massive injection of billions and billions of dollars per month of fresh liquidity. There is some question as to how long that game can be played, but the telltale signs of hyperinflation are beginning to emerge, so that the pullers of the economic levers, like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, are surely between the proverbial rock and a hard place. So, the captains of this system of things know that their system is doomed. And of course the god of this world has knowledge to that effect as well. That makes war inevitable, for the masters of this world will never let their power be stripped by the collapse of their money pyramid.
There are numerous hotspots around the world, but none as sensitive or as strategically important as the Middle East. Most observers realize that eventually war will erupt in that region, as it has many times before. Only this time the players have nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. Israel even has the dreaded neutron bomb. Now, the reason this is significant is because the Evangelical religious movement has long taught that Jesus will physically return to the land that he departed and that Armageddon will literally be fought in that region of the earth. Many of these fundies are also saying that Christ is due to arrive at any moment. So, what happens in the eventuality of a conflagration in the Middle East? No doubt, if the players go nuclear, not only will large segments of the world become obliterated, but also the already precariously tottering financial system would vaporize in an afternoon. The price of a barrel of oil would go into the stratosphere, much like a boiling radioactive mushroom cloud. The governments would crumble. Mankind would truly be terrorized to the point of fulfilling Christ's prophecy of becoming "faint with fear in expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth."
And, more interestingly, besides the Watchtower likely being blown out of the water by the financial crash, seeing that there is no way that a multi-million dollar operation could continue on when money goes kaput, a great confusion among the Witnesses would set in. And the fundamentalists will have performed great signs and wonders because it will seem as if Christ is returning to Jerusalem somehow. So the stage is definitely set for some strange and earth-shaking things to take place.
I linked to Hal Lindsey's web site. Check out his little cyber eye candy deal as the page loads up. It shows a cruise missile blowing up into a mushroom cloud, then a picture of Jesus gives way to Hal!

Sat. Dist. Conv.--Cracking the whip!
by LostMyReligion ini have put in my final day at this year's test of posterior endurance---saturday at the district convention, 2001. i took quite a few notes today, because some had specifically asked about saturday's program.
i hope all will be suitably edified by them.
do not just listen to bits and pieces of the program, but to the whole thing.

My, but you are an excellent note taker. I bet you used to underline all the right answers with a yellow marker too.
It's a shame about you religion though. Here's a little riddle for you that might help you find your lost religion, or maybe even get one for the first time. It has to do with the convention program.

What is a Gargoyl?

can anyone help me withsome input onthis one?

Gargols are little demon-like sculptures. Click here >>>> http://www.ils.unc.edu/garg/garghp4.html
My guess is that when the Society bought that hotel that they agreed with the city officials not to remove them so as to retain the historical architectural character of the building as much as possible. It's the same thing no doubt with the winged-sun emblem that apparently exists on the exterior of the Stanely theater. Apostate lunatics of course would have you imagine that there is something sinister about those emblems remaining, but the fact is, that to remove them could be construed as an act of superstition. After all, the emblems are just stone and we don't really believe they can ward off demons. So, maybe you need to grow up some spiritually so as not to fall prey to this kind of simple-minded trickery. / You Know

LATEST INSTALLMENT OF APOSTATE "DOOM"...
by You Know inas the last days wind down to their dramatic conclusion, prophecies that were heretofore obscure, over time have now come more sharply into focus.
one such prophecy that bears review is the oft-quoted verse concerning the "increasing of lawlessness.
" typically the watchtower has pointed to increasing criminal lawlessness in the world as evidence of the fulfillment of that particular feature of the sign of christ's imminent arrival.

I believe that the great tribulation is Jehovah’s way of disciplining his name people because of their apostasies. In order to accomplish this, He brings the ‘king of the North’ against this people.
There are a number of reasons for it, one of which is to correct and discipline. But, the king of the North is said to come into the Land of the Decoration and eventually actually become a squatter in the domain of spiritual Israel. That of course provokes Michael to take care of business. So, whatever sins God's people and organization are guilty of will be dealt with by the punishing blow delivered during the tribulation.
The problem is not with a few JWs, but it is the ENTIRE nation that is in trouble.
I agree that the entire nation is in trouble. I have written a lot about that. But that doesn't mean that everyone is an apostate. The tribulation will be the means to seperate the wheat and the weeds and the sheep and the goats. Until this moment the has been no clear seperation. The Watchtower has served as the dragnet of Jesus' parable. When once it has served its purpose it is then discarded and the catch is seperated and handled accordingly.
Unless I am a part of the ‘king of the north’ I will have no part in administering this discipline. I’m not sure that I understand just what you are describing using terms such as ‘blood-fest.’
The tribulation will be a time of terror and anarchy as well as a time of totalitarian tyranny. That's the time when Jesus said that children will deliver up the parents to be killed. The seething hatred of apostates will be unleashed against the faithful. That's what I mean by "blood-fest."
Daniel admitted that this was a national problem even though Daniel personally may not have been guilty of this sin.And this is the same confession that every Jehovah’s Witness today will have to make in order to be considered worthy of being saved, or declared righteous, at the end of this disciplinary period, the great tribulation, to be administered by Jehovah in the near future.
I don't disagree with that at all. That's good insight on your part. There are entire prophetic books that go into that in greater depth, including Lamentations as well. I am reluctant to delve in that that sort of thing in this forum for obvious reasons, but yeah you are right on the mark with that. Maybe we are just talking about a semantical difference over apostasy. After all, back in the 11th chapter of Daniel it mentions how apostasy is introduced into the organization by the king of the North, but how those knowing Jehovah "act effectively."
Of course, I know why you would not agree with the above statements.
But I do agree with your comments, I just won't go so far as use the word "apostate."
If the whole nation is in apostasy, then, either there are no anointed in the organization or if there are, they are in big trouble with Jehovah.
It is the latter. Jehovah's discipline is evidence of that, because as the Scripture show, whomever he receives as a son is scourged.
And the most logical conclusion is that there are none there. Anointed individuals would never have led the organization into apostasy or idolatry.
Here's where your reasoning jumps the track. Read the rest of that verse in the 13th chapter of Zechariah. After God's discipline Jehovah reaffirms his love saying: "It is my people." If they were not his people he would never take the trouble to refine them in the fire so that they emerge as gold. Too, read the letters of Christ to the 7 congregations in Revelation. They had some big problems, apostasy in the congregations was mentioned several times. But those individuals who were faithful under test were promised that they would be blessed. That that prophecy has application to the future, consider Revelation 3:10 where Christ said that the faithful would be protected during the tribulation that was coming upon the entire inhabited earth.
What do you mean that the ‘demon hordes are going to go crazy?’ They are already crazy. If you don’t think so, just check out this next war. Again the great tribulation is not for the world of mankind, it is specifically designed for Jehovah’s Witnesses by Jehovah.
Wars seem to always serve as a pretext for the nations to persecute Jehovah's Witnesses. The next war will no doubt be the tribulation. And it is coming upon the entire inhabited earth as Jesus forewarned. Probably from the worldly perspective it will be assumed to be WWIII. But of course it will merely serve as the occasion when Jehovah and Satan settle their ongoing issue. And Jehovah's anointed ones are the issue. / You Know

MORE FROM PROFITS OF DOOM
by You Know inwhom do you trust?
according to apostates, god and his word can't be trusted because the bible is unreliable and jehovah god is a baby killer and murderer of innocent people.
trusting the watchtower is out of the question, because obviously, the whole thrust of the apostasy is aimed at discrediting the watchtower so as to create wicked suspicions and distrust in the minds of trusting ones, apparently with some success.

Beware of false prophecy. False prophets die.
Thanx for the warning. By the way, did you realize, according to the 2nd chapter of 2nd Peter, that God considers apostates to be false prophets? Apparently that's because they are so vocal in their predictions that Jesus is going to be a no-show for the sole reason that he hasn't arrived yet. So, obviously, when he does finally arrive to throw the world into chaos, such apostates will receive a false prophet's punishment. As for this system ending, that is not really so much a matter of debate. It is only a matter of which event is going to trigger the blow out and collapse, and of course, no one can precisely say when that will occur. But it is becoming more obvious by the day, to thinking people at least, that the present financial system is about to become charred toast. Jesus' arrival is more or less a post mortem event. / You Know

Now I face the future without fear.
That is no doubt because you have succeeded in deluding yourself that no calamity awaits the world. The Proverbs in fact point out that wicked people are generally at ease and have no worries. That though will change when the system crumbles. It is easy to talk crap now because nothing has happened yet, but that will change soon. / You Know

So stop using the Big-A as a scare tactic. What`s so scarry about it?
I know a young Cambodian man you lived through the Killing Fields when the Khmer Rouge liguidated about half the population of Cambodia. You should talk to him about terror. I admire stoicism generally, but false bravado is always the first to go when things get scary. God's word says that when Jehovah comes down in anger to set things straight that all the apostates in Zion will shiver. In fact all of mankind is going to become faint with fear when they are confronted with the horrifying collapse of the present system. You will be plenty scared, and unless you have a cyanide capsule at the ready to off yourself at the first sign of terror, you will have to experince the truthfulness of words that say that "it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the true God." / You Know
